September 20

Today is the only day where I was in the hospital for rounds and observation of surgery. It has been said in the past that it takes only 90 seconds of arriving for the first ward rounds to see something I had never seen before. Turns out that it took about a half hour, but the streak continues. There were mostly patients with traumatic injury and many having had to undergoing joint replacement for arthritis. The orthopedic residency continues to thrive.

I head tomorrow, feeling that I have accomplished very much. Not a lot of poignant stories, but in fact we probably don’t see or here about all the successes. I know they are there. I know that we have advanced orthopedic care and helped many people to be restored to function. The societal and economic impact is incalculable. What I do know is that none of this happens without your prayers and support.

Thank you,

Doug
